Technology makes our lives easier in so many ways, and dentistry is no different. At Doreen Dental Clinic, we incorporate evidence-based technology whenever we see something that will improve your dental care or patient experience.
This page outlines some of the dental technology we feature at Doreen Dental Clinic. When combined with the expert skill of our dentists, we hope you'll enjoy the Doreen Dental Clinic difference.
Digital X-Rays and Sensors
Digital x-rays reduce radiation and eliminate the need for development chemicals that were necessary with old-fashioned film x-rays. This protects both you and the environment.
We store digital x-rays in your digital chart. Your dentist can compare them with a few clicks to their computer and track changes to your oral health over time. Digital technology makes monitoring your dental health a streamlined process for earlier and more accurate diagnoses.
Panoramic X-Rays
Individual x-rays are great for a close-up view of a specific area. Sometimes, however, a full-picture view of your dentistry, teeth and oral structures is more beneficial. Panoramic x-rays take a picture of the full mouth, including jaw joints, sinus pathways, jaw bones, teeth, and structures.
Panoramic x-rays are beneficial in treatment planning for:
- Wisdom tooth extraction
- Dental implant placement
- TMJ (jaw joint) evaluation
- Bone evaluation
- Denture treatment
It's easy to take a panoramic x-ray. We will place your head and neck in position, and you just stand still while the pano revolves around your head. Voilà!
We will ask you to remove any piercings or jewellery that may interfere with your x-ray results.
Televisions in Treatment Rooms
We rarely take a moment to ourselves during a busy day. We offer televisions in our treatment rooms so you can watch your favourite programme or movie while we look after your smile. Site back. Relax. Take a break while you're with us.
Rotary Endodontics
Rotary endodontics has advanced root canal treatment into the future! Because the titanium tips are flexible and fast, rotary endo instruments reduce vibration, shorten treatment times, and make root canals a much smoother process than with old hand-held files.
Our gentle root canal treatment process will feel pretty similar to getting a basic filling in most scenarios, so you have nothing to fear. Root canals can save troubled teeth.
Intraoral Camera
You have probably heard the old saying, 'A picture is worth a thousand words'. This is particularly true when trying to understand your dental health. Fortunately, intraoral cameras help us do just that. A small, pen-sized camera can capture what your dentist sees. We can show you images on your treatment room monitor to explain conditions like gum disease, broken teeth, wear, staining and damaged restorations.
When you can see what your dentist sees, it empowers you to make an informed choice about your oral health and dentistry.
